I recently had Mrs. N all the way up from Waynesboro, VA to do a boudoir session!
Now that she has her artwork, I can share her with you! Check out what she had to say about her boudoir session!
What made you book in for a session? What were you hoping to get out of it?
I had heard good things and I was hoping that it would be a confidence boost, and just help myself to see myself in a different way. I’ve always heard people say, that you don’t know how beautiful you are to someone else, and I wanted to get a glimpse of that.
Describe how you felt before coming in for your session?
Kind of nervous! But talking with Jennifer in phone calls and emails helped, she has a way of calming and knows exactly what to say. I felt prepared, I was impressed too! Just from answering skin care questions to make sure the types of make up would be right, and going through outfit ideas and poses.
What made you choose Supernova Boudoir and Jennifer James?
I booked a session after entering and winning a contest from a bridal post, and i’m so happy that i decided to do that!
After I booked initially, I joined Jennifer’s VIP facebook group, and I have to say it is the most amazing and uplifting group. That gave me more of a push also, telling me I made the right photographer decision.
What was your favorite part of your boudoir experience?
My favorite part was during the session, and watching Jennifer work. It was so much fun, she’d be up on a ladder, or creeping behind the tree, haha, trying to get the right angle. It was just fun, not awkward, good conversation, and laughing.
What is your favorite photo from your boudoir session?
Oh that is a good question! As I pull up my gallery on my phone I have quite a few favorites. Okay- I can narrow it down to 2, maybe. There is one in a long sleeved black outfit, and it was shot from above and just captured a genuine big smile on my face, and I just can’t get past how happy I look. Second, I love the photo laying on the ground in front of the window, with my propped up on the cushion. My legs look amazing, first of all, and this one says Strength to me. I’m not sure how to fully explain it, but the elegance translates to strength.
How has your boudoir session changed your perspective about yourself and your body?
It has definitely changed the way that I think about myself, which of course we all know is always a work in progress. I just try to remember more, like I said earlier, that in someone else’s eyes we are a different kind of beautiful than we can imagine. That’s not just on the outside, either. The way that we look at someone and think of an amazing trait they have, other people do the same to us. That definitely translates through these photos, and I’m so thankful for that!
What would you tell someone who is on the fence or thinks she can’t do one?
DO IT. I’ve told so many of my friends that they need to. I think so many women think that they have to look a certain way or be a certain size to do it, but you don’t. That’s just an obnoxious thought. Looking back on the photos you don’t see the “flaws” that you think you have, you see the confidence seeping out and it is just beautiful. Simple as that.
Thank you, Mrs. N!!!!
